Bijan at Spark Ventures announces that portfolio company – Medium – has come out of stealth mode with a controlled beta. I’m checking it out and it appears to enable real-time, collaborative browsing with buddies allowing colleagues to know what you’re browsing and to quickly join you and share. Medium tracks your web surfing and maps your sites along with fellow logged-in users enabling both sides to check out other potentially relevant content. It includes IM for real-time exchanges on topics. Social/Community browsing…cool. It’s not hard to see how this could go viral quickly. As Bijan summarizes:
"One of our portfolio companies that is now coming out of stealth mode is Me.dium. They just launched a closed beta but let me know if you want to try it out and I can send you an invite.
The company is in Boulder. It’s an amazing team and we are excited to be working with them. They decided to share some of their plans to the local DailyCamera.
I agree with Brad. It’s a lot of fun. I’ve turned on "visible to all" as well.
