Searching Voice and using Voice to Search

I’ve been tracking the evolution of searching, tagging and deep-tagging of audio and video content and am optimistic about the future of searching voice and using your voice to search.   This week two storylines prove the point.

First Plugg’d shows-off the power of searching voice (and video) content by indexing President Bush’s State-of-the-Union address and making it easy for users to identify, reference and share key passages of the speech.  Check it out here:

Also this week, TellMe continues create innovative voice-driven applications with the launch of TellMe by Mobile.  Now users can use their voice and mobile device to search and find local businesses, addresses, maps and directions.  All for free.
